Aksel Grettum Signs First Professional Contract with Cavalry FC

Southwest United is proud to celebrate Aksel Grettum's first professional contract with Cavalry FC.

Aksel began his time with the club in September, taking an important step forward in his football career.

For a player connected to the SWU community, signing a professional contract is a milestone worth recognising. It opens a new chapter for Aksel, with the opportunity to continue developing in a professional environment and take on the expectations that come with it.

His journey has also included selection for the Whitecaps Caps to College program.

Now, his move to Cavalry adds another significant achievement as he continues pursuing opportunities in the game.

For younger players at Southwest United, Aksel's signing provides a local example of where football can lead. Every player's route is different, but seeing someone from their own club take this step can help them picture possibilities beyond their current team or season.

It is also a proud moment for the people who have been part of his journey. Football brings together teammates, coaches, and families over many seasons, and milestones like this give that wider community a reason to celebrate.

Joining Cavalry is the beginning of a new challenge. As Aksel settles into his next chapter, we look forward to following his progress and supporting him from Edmonton.

Everyone at Southwest United congratulates Aksel on his first professional contract. We wish him every success with Cavalry FC and in the work ahead.
