SWU 1996 Boys Open the Season with a Tournament Win
The SWU 1996 Boys opened their 2008 Outdoor season by winning the Tier 1 Division of the 2008 Duggan Tournament. SWU defeated their neighbourhood rivals, Sting, in the semi final and then beat North Extreme 5-2 to take the gold medal.

SWU 1996 Boys Win Tier I in Slush Cup 2008
The SWU 1996 Boys won the the 2008 Slush Cup at Tier 1. They defeated the Sherwood Park Rangers in the final game to bring home the gold.

SWU 1996 Boys Team Capture Gold in Calgary Tournament

The SWU 1996 Boys Team won gold in the U12, Tier I category of the Calgary Tier I-III Tournament held January 3-6, 2008. The SWU Team defeated the NSDSC Rangers 3-2 in a very exciting final.

SWU 1996 Boys Win Bronze at the 2007 Tier II Provincial Championships

The SWU 1996 Boys capped off their very successful 2007 outdoor season by winning the bronze medal in the Tier II Provincial Championship. The boys played great soccer in the tournament, going undefeated in regulation time. In the semi-final they tied the game and then lost in penalty kicks to a 1995 Calgary team. In a hard fought match, they defeated the Lethbridge Cosmos 3-1 to earn the bronze medal. Well done boys!

SWU 1996 Boys Win 2007 Outdoor Season In Tier II EIYSA

The SWU 1996 Boys team ended their regular season play beating their closest rivals in the two final games to win the league. The boys ended their season with a record of 10 wins,
1 loss and 3 ties. Most importantly, the season saw the boys have fun and grow both as
a team and as individual players.

Boys win GOLD at St. Albert Canada Day Classic Tournament

The SWU 1996 Boys won gold at the Tier II level in the St. Albert Soccer Association Canada Day Classic Tournament. They went undefeated in the tournament, giving up
only one goal.

Boys win GOLD in Edmonton West Zone Spring Challenge

The SWU 1996 Boys won gold in the Edmonton West Zone Spring Challenge. In the final, they defeated Inter 2-0 in a hard fought match. This is their second tournament gold in the 2007 Outdoor Season.

Boys Finish First in U10 League

The boys won GOLD in the West Edmonton Tournament in June, 2006. This is a great start to our youngest boys team and bodes well for their future. SWU Head Coach Bill Shores and Assistant Coach Mel Snihurowich deserve substantial credit for a job well done.
