OUR VALUES

Commitment and Persistence
Do it to the best of your knowledge and ability, or don’t do it at all. There are no shortcuts to success. Those who put in the greatest effort and sacrifice will receive the greatest rewards. Develop good habits, and good things will come your way.

Life is like a grindstone - whether it grinds you down or polishes you up depends on what you're made of.

Tough times don’t last; tough people do.

Quitting is a short cut to losing.

It takes twenty years to become an overnight success.

Opportunity and Learning
Be committed to lifelong learning and see opportunity in every challenge and adversity you face. Look for lessons equally in accomplishments as in setbacks. Know that each of us can be better in every way if we set our mind to it.

Things turn out best for people who make the best of the way things turn out.

The greatest glory comes not from never falling, but in rising every time one falls.

When faced with a challenge, look for a way, not a way out.

Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which she has overcome while trying to succeed

Goals and Plans
All competitive sports programs should have well-defined goals to which every athlete and coach are fully committed. Strengths and weaknesses should be clearly understood, and a detailed annual plan should chart how the short term objectives and long term goals will be achieved. Every possible resource should be accessed to create a teamwork approach to coaching.

Obstacles are the things a person sees when he takes his eyes off his goal.

If you haven't got the time to do it right, when will you find the time to do it over?

I find the great thing in this world is, not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving.

Team
A team is a group of individuals bonded by a common purpose. A team provides a sense of belonging, strength, and confidence far beyond what is possible by its individuals alone. Ask what you can do for the team before you ask what you can do for yourself.

It's amazing how much can be accomplished if no one cares who gets the credit.

Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.

You can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed.

Responsibility
Being responsible and accountable to team mates is essential for building strong teams. Every choice that a person makes affects not only oneself but the entire team. This is true on or off the field and for coaches as for players. Ask what you can do for your team mates rather than what they should do for you.

We are a product of the choices we make, not the circumstances that we face.

Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.

There are always those who think they know what is your responsibility better than you do.

There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them.

Respect
Respect every player for what they bring to the team. Every player has a unique set of strengths and weaknesses. Be respectful of the differences, helpful in overcoming difficulties, and thankful for other’s strengths because everyone is working toward the same goal as you. Respect opponents, referees, coaches and all who provide you the opportunity to play the game and reach your potential.

To be well respected you must first be respectful to others.

If you have respect for people as they are, you can be more effective in helping them to become better than they are.

Balance
A team should have unwavering focus on its goals, but its athletes also must be provided and taught a sense of balance – balancing sport with other priorities, performance with outcome, confidence with humility, dealing with pressure, finding opportunity in adversity, recognizing what can be controlled and what can not, knowing when to be serious and when to unwind, remembering there are short term and long term goals, understanding there is a time for everything.

Success is not a destination that you ever reach. Success is the quality of your journey.

Success is not the key to happiness - happiness is the key to success.

Confidence
More than anything else, one’s success is determined by their beliefs in what is possible. Find strength in your accomplishments to push you toward the possible. Be courageous, and think positive.

What we think, we become.

If you believe that you can do something, or believe that you can not do something, in either case, you are bound to be right.

Experience tells you what to do; confidence allows you to do it.

Trust
Trust that each player will perform their responsibilities to the best of their abilities. Trust that great things can be accomplished when individuals work together toward a common goal. Trust that there are always ways to improve. Coaches should trust that players will make the best efforts and decisions of which they are capable in the heat of competition. And trust in yourself.

Nobody will think you're somebody if you don't think so yourself.

Few things help an individual more than to place responsibility upon him and to let him know that you trust him.
