1991 Girls Provincial Silver Medalists

Well, it was
'this close".
The 1991 Girls took silver at the U18 Tier 1 Provincials in Calgary, August
28-30. The team was undefeated in
the tournament with a 1-1 tie against Calgary II, a dominant 3-1 win over
Edmonton West Raiders, and a 0-0 tie against Calgary I who won gold and
the right to go to Nationals. The girls dominated the majority of play
over the weekend, and with the number of posts, cross-bars, narrow deflections
it really was "this close" especially in the last game, a game
which according to many unbiased observers felt SWU deserved to win. The
team should be very proud of the high quality of soccer and class displayed
all weekend. Congratulations to the team for the Provincial Silver Medal!
Hold your heads high ladies, it really was "this close"!
